COACHES REQUIREMENTS
South Windsor Girls Lacrosse requires its Coaches to have classroom and field certification as follows:
First Year Coach (Assistant)
All Coaches complete on-line Level 1 Training Course ordered by US Lacrosse
First Year Coach (Head Coach)
All Coaches complete on-line Level 1 Training Course ordered by US Lacrosse
All Coaches attend one of the SW Clinics (Opening Draw or High School Clinic)
Second Year Coach (Head or Assistant)
All Coaches complete on-line Level 2 Training Course ordered by US Lacrosse
All Coaches must attend one of SW Clinics (Opening Draw or High School Clinic)
Attend Positive Coach Alliance Training (CT Coaches Convention) if possible,
Mentor System/Buddy System
New youth coaches are paired with an experienced youth or high school coach.
Experienced youth coaches are paired with a high school coach.
Each coach will attend the other's practice two times per season.
Each will offer verbal feedback of the other's practice.
